Vintage Princess 'Bride

Avleen Bansal, Head of Trainings, Make-up Studio, offers a step-by-step guide to help you recreate a modern minimalist bridal makeup look.

A traditional red costume with intricate embroidery, a heavy jewellery s et featuring a vintage design in green, combined to gether ina contrasting colour th eme that frames the face perfectly. These are all elements that evoke the image of a Vintage Princess Bride. But what separates this look from the run of a mill wedding fare is the use of modern minimalist makeup that highlights the features of the face in multiple layers.

Here is a step-by-step guide to help you recreate this bridal look. All the products used are by Make-Up Studio.

• Prepping the skin is the most crucial part, as it ensures smooth application and increases the longevity of the makeup. Start with skin cleansing and deep moisturising. To get an even skin texture, a good face primer is necessary. We used Make-Up Studio Prebase that suits all skin types.

• Bridal make-up requires a lot more coverage, which can be achieved with correctors and concealers. We used Make-Up Studio Concealer (Palette EP056) to cover up those pesky dark circles and other pigmentation issues.

• Next, we use our Face It Foundation, which provides full coverage and a natural glow to the complexion. We blend the foundation with a sponge block for smooth finish. Makeup Studio’s Translucent Power Extra Fine helps set the foundation in place.

• The Bronzing Powder Lumiere adds warmth and helps sculpt the cheekbones, jawline, nose, and forehead. You can add an extra dewy flush to the apple of the cheeks with our Eyeshadow Lumiere in the Silk Rose shade.

• For Indian brides, you can surely play up the eye shadows depending upon your personal taste. Brown eye shadow complements Indian skin tones and goes well with any outfit. But playing around with some colours never hurts. Start by priming the lids with an eye primer. We used a matte eye shadow in dark brown, blending it nicely in the outer corners and the crease. We applied some purple colour pigment in the middle of the lids to add a pop of colour. For the inner corners, we used Colour Pigment in Citrine. You can add jewel effects on top of the eye shadow for that glittery glam look. Finish off the eye look with a winged liner, and some kohl in the bottom lash line.

• We filled in the eyebrows using our pro brow gel-dark. It not only fills, but also fixes the unruly hairs.

• For the lips, we use our medium nude lip pencil no. 14, and paint lip gloss in taupe passion.

• Lastly, we spray makeup fixer for a water-proof fix.
