A Perfect Glowing Skin For D-Day

A great bridal look isn’t simply about preparation on the day of the big event, but careful planning of the skincare treatment regime leading up to the big day explains Vaishali Shah, Founder Director, LTA School of Beauty.

Pre-bridal services are not only the best time to splurge but also relax, rejuvenate and glow. No treatment is good or bad, best or average as it all depends on the skin type, condition and concern of the bride. Every skin is different and needs to be taken care of differently. Every bride needs a different routine.

1. Exfoliation:

Ideally start with exfoliation, by a trained aesthetician. For this treatment, the bride-to-be has to start the procedure, 20-24 weeks away from the wedding day. Deep peels treatment can be suggested as that would help in kickstarting her cell turnover and help in revealing a clearer, smother and brighter skin.

2. Micro needling:

Micro needling is also a good treatment to boost collagen production and to take care of scars. However, they require multiple sessions (3-4) to show results and have a downtime of 4-5 days. Brides with oily skin, prominent open pores, clogged pores, blackheads can also be given carbon peel. This also results in plumper, smoother, and clear skin.

3. Lymphatic Drainage:

If there are very young brides or brides who haven’t done any treatments before it would be a good idea to stick to a few basic services- like a lymphatic drainage to help clear the clogged pores and improve blood circulation. An ionisation treatment is an excellent choice to sooth the redness and hydrate the skin.

Ensure you build a good skin care routine well in advance- cleanse, tone, treat, moisturise and protect. This is the simplest mantra to good skin.

4. No to bleach:

Say no to bleach as it dehydrates the skin and sometimes causes reactions and peeling. Instead opt for Dtan services. In case of facial hair a recommendation would be waxing for the bride-to-be. But they must do it once or twice before the main event to manage any reactions that could occur. Get face waxing done only with experienced trained therapists using a special wax for the facial area. If time permits laser is a good choice too.

However, if the bride-to-be comes 12-16 weeks before her wedding then she can opt for procedures like superficial peels, hydra facial, and / or photo facial treatments which can be planned with 3-4 sittings before her wedding. Closer to the wedding, treatments must focus on healing and calming the skin. A home care routine should focus on hydration, nourishing and protecting the skin every day. The key is do not try anything new 4-6 weeks before your wedding. As your anxiety and stress increases any new unknown treatment for your skin could react. And just before the main day another recommendation would be for the bride-tobe to have a relaxing massage to let all her worries and stress melt away.

Remember the bride is a star of the wedding and should take care of her skin care regimes very strictly and properly.
