Biju Nair, Co-Founder, LTA School of Beauty, sheds light on this collaboration with the Government of India on skilling the Indian youth in a bid to build a prosperous nation.

About the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Yojana

The Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) had announced the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana in 2014 with a vision and a dual objective to transform rural underprivileged youth into an economically independent and globally relevant workforce and cater to the career aspirations of rural youth.

This initiative is a part of the Skill India campaign and plays an instrumental role in supporting the social and economic programmes of the government like the Make In India, Digital India, Smart Cities and Start-Up India, and Stand-Up India campaigns.

Its unique implementation structure involves partners, who are by nature, committed to changing lives, and are experts in their areas. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana is present in 28 states and UTs, across 689 districts, impacting youth from over 7,426 blocks and so far committed an investment of more than Rs 5,600 Crores, impacting rural youth pan-India.

LTA SCHOOL OF BEAUTY’S ROLE

LTA has partnered with various government agencies to identify youths, who need the right skills and opportunity to break free from the vicious low-knowledge-low-income cycle. The institute supports the Government of India in fulfilling their skilling mission, which is being executed through various schemes under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Yojna.

LTA takes complete responsibility of identifying and mobilising the right candidate from villages and conducts residential training with full lodging and boarding facility for over three months wherein the candidates undergo not only industry relevant skills training but also soft skills and IT proficiency. These skills help them adapt easily to mega cities and perform to their full potential. LTA’s mission for the beauty and wellness Industry is to produce 1000 skilled workforce to power the nail service industry, which is hugely underserved. Given the availability of huge raw manpower supply in the country and tremendous opportunity, which the beauty industry provides, it is only logical and natural that a training specialist organisation provides the right bridge between the job provider and job seeker.

With the shared mission of skilling Indians for a prosperous India, LTA School of Beauty has successfully placed over 30 candidates in Tamil Nadu in outlets such as Naturals Salons and Bounce Salons.

LOOKING AHEAD

In the near future, LTA would like to intensify their efforts by cooperating and associating with various state governments to increase the reach of quality beauty education to all corners of the country. It is LTA’s vision to train 10,000 + passionate and creative candidates in the next 2-3 years and add that workforce to the beauty and wellness industry, through the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Yojana.
