Dear reader,

Year 2022 started on a promising note for the beauty industry. We at Professional Beauty x Hairdressers Journal have been taking feedback from industry experts in real time to gauge whether this optimism was real or a delusion. We are happy to state that it is real! The way the salon sector has bounced back in the first half of the year is indicative of how interesting the upcoming bridal season is going to be. As salons, hairstylists, skin specialists, therapists, make-up artists and freelancers alike gear up for the big Indian wedding season, there is a lot more to look forward to in terms of trends, business ideas and marketing strategies.

Apart from the good business that beauty professionals are expecting, there is a lot of excitement around education, too. With offline courses taking off, we are now witnessing a hybrid model of teaching wherein theory and practical work is combined in an online-offline format. This encourages aspiring artists to learn and practice from any corner of the country.

Education is the foundation of the industry and India is scaling new heights with the introduction of formal uniform education of international standards.

To support the industry’s endeavour to get back to pre-pandemic times, Professional Beauty is coming up with the second edition of the Professional Beauty Exhibition in Mumbai this year.
