Freecia Professional Signs Abhay Giridhar as National Creative Head

The Canadian beauty brand Freecia Professional onboards the celebrated hair guru, Abhay Giridhar, the veteran hair artist, as their national creative head.

Giridhar has been part of the Indian beauty industry for the past two decades, with training from Vidal Sassoon Academy London. He also has experience of working in countries like Netherlands, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Turkey, Croatia, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Dubai.

“Abhay Giridhar leading the Technical Education Wing in India will facilitate young hair technicians to transform their technical know-how to the global level. He will give his expertise to this multi-brand group with different haircare segments viz Freecia Professional and PROADS Professional for its expansive range of homecare, hairstyling and hair treatments,” said Bhaskar Bawa, MD, Freecia Professional India.

Giridhar will be bringing capsule courses through various mediums like social media, look and learn Shows, hands on workshops, master classes, mega shows and a lot more pertaining to the education wing activities for Freecia Professional.

Delhi gets Revlon India’s Largest Flagship Store

Revlon has launched its unique experiential brand location in Delhi. The store, which is situated on Bungalow Road, Kamla Nagar, features the full line of the brand’s colour cosmetics, skincare and personal care goods in addition to a few Revlon Professional and Street Wear products.

Mouni Roy goes ‘Mercurial’ on the ramp with Streax Professional

Mercurial, the latest collection by Streax Professional, was showcased beautifully by actress Mouni Roy at a fashion event in Mumbai. The collection was inspired and curated with customised fashion wear by acclaimed designer Abhishek Sharma. Mouni exhibited a stylish elegant look from the Natural Me zone, flaunting a hairstyle with caramel brown hair colour and honey brown highlights; wearing a bespoke ivory gown. The event also showcased a stellar line-up of the fashion-forward collection, with models flaunting the colour, designs and textures to their stylish best.

Mercurial is about moving from a colourful vivid, intense hair colour with over dramatised flair full clothing fashion with very modern influences of today, into a very subtle monochromatic classy natural hair with layer upon layer of organic material, with softer, cleaner organic shapes with lesser texture more based on cuts and graphic lines and blocked colours.

Backstage Heroes programme by Lakmé Salon & Academy at FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week

Lakmé Salon & Academy’s Backstage Heroes programme went live at the FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) in Mumbai this October 12-16, 2022. Lakmé Salon & Academy’s experts have been creating trendsetting hair and make-up looks for top Indian designers. Lakmé Salon partners with and sponsors one Runway show with a leading designer every season, while its experts also go backstage to create magic for numerous other Runway and Atelier shows during the course of the week. This year, handpicked Backstage Heroes from Lakmé Salon & Academy will create showstopping looks for an array of designers, before bringing them into the salon for the customers.

For the main show, Lakmé Salon has partnered with ace designer Samant Chauhan to present ‘The Nomad Bride’, a collection that celebrates the backbone of every sartorial piece – the fabric – engulfed in a central Asian, tribal theme. The key make-up looks for this collection are the Golden Diva, encapsulated by blue and green hues on the eyes, a gold glow on the skin and soft, feathery eyebrows; the Pearl Goddess, signified by a dreamy pearl look and glass glow skin; and the Tribular Look, with smokey eyes, bronzed skin and matte lips. The hair will be characterised by flowing waves, unstructured updos, Russian braids and infinity braids interwoven with fabric and lots of hair accessories, to celebrate the Nomad Bride’s free spirit.

India to Witness the First World Digital Detox Day

WorldSkills 2022: Charmi Sen Bags Medal of Excellence in Hairdressing

India’s Charmi Sen won Medal of Excellence in Hairdressing at WorldSkills 2022 held at Helsinki, Finland. The hairdressing competition boasted participation of members from 20 countries, from which Charmi bagged the award.

Held from 20 to 23 October, the hairdressing competition witnessed the participants showcasing their talent in bridal hairdressing, men’s perm, beard designing, catwalk hairstyle, ladies cut and colour, and men’s fashion cut.

Charmi received her training at Blossom Kochhar Aromamagic under the mentorship of her expert Samantha Kochhar for the WorldSkills 2022 competition.

Hailing from Udaipur, Rajasthan, Charmi is a state-level basketball player, who earned her Bachelors degree from Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. Apart from applying her skills at hairdressing, she also has interests in dancing, singing, music, basketball, and drawing. PBHJ
