TRENDS OFF THE ramp!

Lakmé Fashion Week presented the upcoming season’s trending hair and make-up looks. We look at the top looks that caught our attention.

Lakmé Fashion Week went all out with ‘festive’ beauty as it presented an array of beauty trends, from classic chignons with dreamy earthy make-up to minimalist make-up with romantic side swept hair and edgy twisted mohawk coupled with coloured eyeliners. Lakmé Backstage Heroes from Lakmé Salon and Academy were instrumental in creating and executing these raging trends. Let’s take a peek into some of the unforgettable styles that ruled the ramp.

Structure this!

Fashion designer: Anand Kabra Hair: Wrapped in a cloth bandana and placed in a messy, angular structure, with the flyaways designed artistically on the forehead. Make-up: Bronzed skin, straight winged liner extended in the inner and outer corner of the eyes, and brown lips with a touch of gold at the centre. Expert speak: “This look is not only easy to recreate but also accessorising with a bandana can elevate one’s basic outfit,” said Pooja Singh, National Creative Director, Hair, Lakmé Salon.

Classic Style

Fashion designer: Anju Modi Hair: Gorgeous waves twisted into a classic chignon and embellished with gold and stone jewels helped create a ‘standout’ look. Make-up: Smudged kajal on the lower waterline and a mix of brown and black eyeshadow along with heavy mascara, lots of blush with a touch of highlighter. Expert speak: Anupama Katyal, National Creative Director, Makeup & Nails, Lakmé Salon, said, “The focus should remain on the eyes with soft glowing skin and nude brown lips.”

Bold & Beautiful

Fashion designer: Gauri and Nainika Hair: Side-swept and secured with pins, with light movement thanks to soft waves to match the floral theme of the fashion collection. Make-up: Deep, black smoky eyes with black and brown eyeshadow on the waterline paired with thick, long lashes. The cheekbones were contoured and highlighted while the lips were kept a stunning, bright red.

Smart and Edgy

Fashion designer: INIFD Hair: A twisted mohawk is the way to go. Make-up: Glass glow finish skin with orange liner in the inner and outer corner or winged liner with a pop of colour in the inner corner with soft nude pink lips, or the pop of colour under the eyebrows along with purple liner on the crease line.

Sleek Style

Fashion Designer: Nachiket Barve Hair: Echoing the overall tone of the make-up and the collection, the hair was kept straight and slick, a nod to contemporary minimalism. Make-up: Keeping it clean and chic, the make-up consisted of glass glow skin with a clean base. The cheekbones were contoured and highlighted while the lips were kept nude and super glossy. PBHJ
