MEET THE PHILANTHRO-ARTIST

They say ‘beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder’. Bijal Gada, make-up artist and owner, Bijal Gada makeover actually lives this phrase every single day. She takes Priyanka Parshuram through her philanthropic journey.

With an experience of more than a decade, Bijal Gada is not only a renowned make-up artist but also a philanthropist at heart. Through her art of make-up and styling she is helping people live their fairy tale moments. She is associated with many NGOs and organisations working for cancer patients and acid attack survivors, where she transforms their personalities through her magical art of make-up and styling.

THE MOTIVATING FACTOR

Gada’s journey in philanthropy started in 2017 when she did make-up and styling for one of her clients who was a cancer patient. “The happiness I witnessed on the face of that lady was worth a million dollars. It was at that time I decided that I will not use my art for just making money but also for the happiness of people with ailments.”

In 2018, Gada associated with Anmol Rodriguez, an acid attack survivor and a model, who walked the ramp for the cause to raise funds for acid attack survivors.

She adds, “Anmol was two months old when her father attacked her and her mother with acid. The acid attack killed her mother and left her permanently scarred.” This story touched Gada and she agreed to associate with Anmol for creating a look. To her surprise, the video of her styling Anmol went viral. After this, Gada commenced her journey as a beauty philanthroartist.

FUNDING MANAGEMENT

Gada is not associated or dependent on any external funding for her social responsibility venture. The entire funding comes from Bijal Gada Makeovers. Every month, 10-20 per cent of the total earnings from Bijal Gada Makeovers is being saved for such activities.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1 Free coaching to the needy

Bijal, who is a strong believer of Shiksha Daan through e Bijal Gada Academy, imparts free coaching to ncer and acid attack survivors, so they become ancially independent. Till date, she has conducted grooming seminars for 200+ ncer patients and the acid attack survivors. During the lockdown, Bijal Gada Academy conducted free line workshops for 9000 students over a span of four months, order to keep them motivated and update their skills. Out of them around 700- 800 started their career as a ake-up artist post-pandemic.

2 Women Empowerment Gada started her career as a make-up artist to financially pport her parents and family. That’s why she understands e importance of women empowerment and upliftment. She has a vision of opening 500+ branches of Bijal Gada akeovers pan India, where each academy will be anned by her students. Through this, she will give employment to her students ined in her academy and help them become ependent and self-sufficient.

3 Best from Waste As a perfect down-to-earth homemaker, Gada uses ery bit of waste produced at her academy during e courses. One such example is the making and donating wigs to ncer patients. “In today’s era of a cutthroat competition and a very ll-educated client base, it is extremely important for e artist to be updated and be at par with their art. It is e survival of the fittest and the finest. Also, it is the most eative field, so the ones who are aspiring to make a reer have to be very constantly innovating their act.

I am thankful to God for giving me the opportunity of becoming a make-up artist. So that even for a short span, I can fill happiness in the life of ailing people.
