NYKAA FEMINA BEAUTY AWARDS 2022

The seventh edition of Nykaa Femina Beauty Awards 2022 was a star-studded evening. The event was attended by Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana, Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, Kriti Sanon, Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Varma.

Speaking about the celebrated beauty awards, Deepak Lamba, CEO, Worldwide Media, said, “The seventh edition of the Nykaa Femina Beauty Awards brought together the best of brands in make-up, skincare, hair care and fragrance, apart from recognising industry leaders and talented names from the field of entertainment, who have won the admiration of our audiences.”

Returning after two years, the seventh edition of this awards show was more glamorous than before. Following an engaging voting phase where 31 lakh+ votes were received across categories, a jury panel chose the best among them as worthy of winning the coveted awards. Among the many personalities from the world of beauty, Yianni Tsapatori received the prestigious Hairstylist of The Year Award, while Puneet B Saini bagged the Makeup Artist of the Year, and Katrina Kaif was bestowed with the Beauty Entrepreneur Of The Year Award.

AIHBA ORGANISERS MAKE-UP SEMINAR IN BENGALURU

AIHBA had organised a make-up seminar in Bengaluru with Zorain Khaleeli, the award-winning make-up artist and founder of Zorain Studio. The event was attended by over 100+ beauticians and make-up artists from different parts of Bengaluru along with cities like Tumkur, Chikkaballapur, Davanegere, Belgaum, Mysuru and Kolar. The seminar was held in the presence of AIHBA National Vice President Anthony David, Ganga Sridhar, Bhavani Sridhar, Pattabiraman, Veena and other Executive Committees.

With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Zorain taught new make-up techniques with airbrush and a dusky make-up look. She gave a detailed explanation about the product, brushes usage, air brush handling, colour combination knowledge. There was even a one-on-one Q&A round at the end of the session.

This session helped the artists to be updated with the latest trends and also helped them to implement the advanced techniques. It will also help them take their business to the next level. AIHBA plans to conduct more advanced classes concerned with beauty like for skin, hair, styling and colour in different cities in the year 2023.

GODREJ PROFESSIONAL LAUNCHES ‘DIMENSION-OMBREYAGE COLLECTION’

Godrej Professional has unveiled its ‘Dimension - Ombreyage Collection,’ which is co-created by the country’s prominent hairstylists like Heena Dalvi, Ryan D’Rozario, Sylvia Chen and Najeeb Rehman. The four hair colour looks of ‘Dimension - Ombreyage Collection’ are Sandstone Ombreyage, Auburn Ombreyage, Crimson Ombreyage and Pearl Square. These hair colour looks encompass a multitude of tones and styles to create distinct looks for every mood, every style and every identity. The collection celebrates and flaunts every dimension and style that makes one look and feel beautiful, inside and out because hair colour does not differentiate between gender, race, size or skin tone.

To showcase the hair colour looks, hair colour and styling workshops were conducted across multiple cities in India. Over 1,000+ stylists attended the workshops held at Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Vadodara, Guwahati, Ludhiana with the brand’s education and technical ambassadors who demonstrated these new looks. The workshop commenced with an informative talk by them on trending haircuts and the four hair colouring techniques. Dalvi and other experts demonstrated colouration and hair cuts live on stage – revealing all the tips and tricks to stylists to recreate these looks in their salons.

The ‘Dimension-Ombreyage Collection’ colour range consists of 28 hair colour shades, all specifically created for Indian hair.

BEAUTIFUL HEARTS FUND JOINS CARTER CLEAN UP

Beautiful Hearts Fund, headed by Blessing A Manikandan, CEO, TONI& GUY, joined the Carter Clean Up drive at Bandra bandstand, on the morning of Saturday, the 4th of February. Mumbai’s hairdressing fraternity was there to support the team of Carter Clean Up. Putting their time and efforts into this initiative were Uday Takke and his team of students along with Mahesh Ravaria and Ratnendra Bhaduri of Beauty Garage; Irfan Memon and Rajesh Vailaya of Olivia; and Shanmugha Kumar and Latha Verghis of Page 3 Salon from Coimbatore.

Freishia Bomanbehram, one of the Co-Founders of Carter Clean Up, said, “Harold Fernandes started cleaning up the beach in Bandra during the lockdown. Slowly we all joined him and it became a movement. So, now we come here every Saturday. And have been doing so for 82 weeks. We’ve collected more than 20k kg of marine waste and 30k kg of debris. We work from 8 to 10 every Saturday morning.”

K18 INDIA EVENT AT JCB SALON, MUMBAI

K18, which marked its entry in India last year following a phenomenal launch across salons in the US and Europe, hosted an event in January 2023. The event was organised at Jean-Claude Biguine salon, BKC, Mumbai, which was transformed into a winter wonderland with an interactive manifestation zone. The guests were invited to write their hair manifestation for 2023 and tie it on the tree branch.

Key media, brand friends and influencers got to experience K18’s miracle product with a proper hair care experiential. Oneon-one sessions with the K18 expert where the technology was explained in detail and engaging activities were organised was part of the fare.

VANDANA BHARDWAJ WINS MAHARASHTRA RATNA PURASKAR

MahaSeWA and Red Ant streamed the prestigious and esteemed award ceremony of Maharashtra Ratna Puraskar 2023. Hosted on 29 January, the Maharashtra Ratna Puraskar 2023 was a grand affair. They awarded brands, companies, entrepreneurs and individuals for their exceptional and remarkable achievements. And highlighted their support towards the state and the country as a whole.

The event also witnessed the pre-launch announcement of ‘Maharashtra Book of Records’. Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha and Mumbai City Guardian Minister Shri Deepak Kesarkar. Ex-Minister Shri Kripashankar Singh, Ex-Deputy Mayor Shri Arun Dev, BJP leader Shri Prakash Darekar, BJP Professional Cell President CA Shailesh Ghedia, BJP Maharashtra Secretary Adv Akhilesh Choubey, State Vice President, MNS, Mumbai, Maharashtra (Mathadi) Shri Atirek Sharma and film actress Dr Aditi Govitrikar attended the event.

Vandana Bhardwaj, Director and Spokesperson of Marie Claire Salon, has been running her own vegan NGO MHH for the past 11 years. MHH works for the upliftment of underprivileged children and animals. GEETANJALI ACADEMY OPENS IN HAUZ KHAS, NEW DELHI

Geetanjali Salon, a high-street chain with 150 salons across India, launched the 4-storied Geetanjali Academy in Hauz Khas market, New Delhi. The academy is spread across 7,000 sq ft and offers certified courses in hair, make-up and beauty.

Sumit Israni, Managing Director and Celebrity Hairstylist, said, “Absolutely thrilled to launch the most awaited and dream project from many years. Education and training have been a dominant part of my success journey. The opening saw guests including investors, franchise partners, editors, journalists, influencers and artists from cross industries. The upper management of L’Oréal Professionnel also attended the event. Israni revealed the hair collection curated by the academy team to mark the beginning of this new journey.

‘WELLNESS MORNING’ WITH TATTVA

Courtyard by Marriott Bengaluru, Hebbal, collaborated with Tattva Wellness for an exclusive ‘Wellness Morning’ session conducted on 22 January. The session was open for guests from the hotel and outside to join the activity. The ‘Wellness Morning’ was curated to bring calmness and ease to the mind, body and soul.

The day started with a yoga session led by Radhika Digga where the yoga poses focused on various aspects such as letting go of worries, finding inner peace and bringing peace to the mind, body and soul.

The guests participated in activities like mobility movements to increase joint strength. Surya namaskar along with asana, meditation for relaxation, breathing techniques for immunity and centering. Followed by a healthy and scrumptious breakfast spread at the rooftop infinity pool side. Tattva Wellness offered all the guests with therapies for relaxation and rejuvenation and wellness hampers.
