SPREADINF LOVE Winning Hearts
Project Butterfly, an initiative launched by Beautiful Hearts Fund, is a CSR activity by the OGs of the beauty industry, as they give back to the society the love and support they have received. Blessing A Manikandan, CEO, TONI&GUY, and Founder, Beautiful Heart Fund, talks about Project Butterfly, a community initiative of the beauty industry, by the beauty industry, for the beauty industry.
Beautiful Hearts Fund is an initiative, which was launched by the veterans of India’s salon and wellness industry to support their peers during the first wave of the COVID-19. The Beautiful Hearts Fund offered financial support and aid to salon owners and individual artists from the Indian beauty industry during the pandemic. And through this foundation, the trailblazers of the beauty industry have set a picture perfect example for the NextGen.
PROJECT BUTTERFLY
Project Butterfly is a new community initiative started by the Beautiful Heart Funds. Blessing A Manikandan, CEO, TONI&GUY, and Founder, Beautiful Hearts Fund, said, “It is a project to spread love in style and win hearts. It is a CSR activity, which the old generation have done, the current generation is executing and an inspiration for the young generation of the beauty and wellness industry.”
Blessing further added, “This is a small token by the members to spread happiness and in return get lots and lots of blessings from our angels.”
Beautiful Hearts Fund Advisory Board has set up a speCial task group for Project Butterfly to organise free hair Cut and pampering drives for old age homes, orphanages, home for the blind and more suCh plaCes.
THE FIRST ACTIVITY
The first activity of Project Butterfly was at St Anthony’s Home for Aged, Bandra, Mumbai. The event was held on 16th December 2022 from 9 am to 1 pm. The event started with renowned artists of the beauty industry such as Nalini Naegamvala, Adhuna Bhabani, Savio John Pereira and Uday Takke interacting with the residents. Beauty professionals from Uday Takke’s Hair & Beauty Salon and Academy, Nalini of Nalini and Yasmin, Savio John Pereira salon and academy, Kut N Make Salon, IOSIS Wellness and T&T Nails Spa groomed and pampered 50 elderly residents from St Anthony’s with haircut, styling, nail colouring and head massage, while they enjoyed the second Innings of their lives. The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony followed by lunch for the senior citizens.
Along with the grooming sessions, it was also party time for the senior ladies as they grooved on the dance floor to live music by Brendon D’Souza. It was a gala pre- Christmas celebration for all the staff and members of the St Anthony’s Home for Aged. Daryl dressed up as Santa Claus to entertain the residents in the true spirit of Christmas.
TEAM WORK
The concept of free haircut and pampering services to the specially abled and underprivileged was proposed by Veena Shetty, and Blessing named it ‘Project Butterfly,’ which will touch hearts and be a bridge between industry and society, with the help of the team this event was meticulously planned and executed, and turned out to be a success. The core team for the first activity at St Anthony’s Home for Aged included Veena Shetty, Priti Joshi, Waqar Ali Shaikh and Rajesh Vailaya who were in charge of Project Butterfly and selflessly worked for its success. They were also joined by other fraternity members like Nalini Naegamvala, Adhuna Bhabani, Palmira Pereira, Savio John Pereira, Uday Takke, Atharva Takke, Kanta Motwani, Sandhya Chipalkatti, Seema V Jerajani, Sheela Iyer, Shirin Merchant, Ebrahim Merchant, Irfan Memon, Ayaz Kabani, Montie Thanki, Debojyoti, Siddharth Iyer and Ashok Chouhan.
FUTURE ACTIVITIES
Beautiful Hearts Advisory Board has assigned the Project Butterfly team to organise free haircut and pampering drives for old age homes, orphanages, home for the blind and more such places. This activity will be organised once every three months in different cities
