Dear Reader,
Success cannot always be measured in terms of money or fame or awards. It is all this and more. In the world of hairdressing, success is often starting from Point A and reaching Point B. The Point A in question can be the salon floor in a small town in India and Point B can be the stage of the British Hairdressing Awards in the UK. It is not an impossible dream - it is attainable with passion and perseverance. It is a success story waiting to be written. We, at Professional Beauty x Hairdressers Journal, are rooting for talent from India to show up and own the BHA stage in the international category.
In this issue, we are exploring the inspiring journey of Indian-origin, UK-based hair educator Jeet A Savani, popularly known as JJ Savani, and his hugely appealing men’s collection. Next is the heartening story of Viktoriia Vradii who made her way from conflict-ridden Ukraine to the UK and made headlines by winning the international category at BHA 2022.
As this is our men’s special issue, we bring the spotlight on every aspect of grooming for men including skincare and hairstyling. For the salons, the male customer is a gold mine that’s waiting to be explored. With tweaks in your approach and your service offerings, you can woo more male clientele to your doors and watch your ticket size grow as the uninhibited spenders pay more attention to their grooming needs.
India has already made its mark at the Academy Awards 2023. Now, the Oscars of Hairdressing aka British Hairdressing Awards are next on our cards. Are you up for the challenge?
