HAIR
It’s a juxtaposition between dry and powdery textures and wet-look gloss, highlighting the alien and ‘other’ feeling about it. Wet look strands slicked to skin add to the eerie look, as nude-look by winding strands down onto body is used.
MAKE-UP
Somewhat grotesque, yet beautiful! Dry, cracked, flaking layers of old, decaying flesh are peeling away to halfreveal a glossy, wet, embryonic and otherworldly form beneath. Make-up is used to create this other-worldly effect.
PROSTHETICS Sculptural and surreal, masked fragments are used as prosthetics to distort the facial features. It is a combination of silicone/ latex and polymer clay, with a strong focus on texture.
