Taking commitment to the next level, LOOKS School of Hair and Beauty has launched its new academy in Pune with the objective of spreading knowledge, education, awareness and churning out polished professionals to meet today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities. The courses are developed and designed to be contemporary, relevant and updated with the latest trends and forward thinking that is derived from passion, commitment and technical excellence. Manish Kumari, Franchise Owner, LOOKS School of Hair and Beauty, Pune, takes us on tour of this newly launched educational institute.
Strong foundation
“The LOOKS School of Hair and Beauty in association with L’Oreal Professionnel’s ARTH has now expanded its horizon in Bavdhan, Pune. It is the first LOOKS academy franchise outside north India.
As the name suggests, ARTH course is Absolute Root to Hairdressing. The curriculum is designed and curated keeping in mind the latest haircuts, colours and styling techniques with the world’s best hairdressers.”
Grooming for excellence
The academy will also conduct short make-up courses, skin courses by CIDESCO to start with at the initial stage. As a part of these courses, the students will be taught skin basics from skin anatomy to treatments and make-up and beyond.

Technological advancement also plays a very crucial role in the progress of the hair and beauty industry. In today’s era when social media is the king, it is very important for the salon professionals to know the dos and don’ts, uses and knowledge of handling social media. Hence, the academy will have a special course on social media for its students which will help them be at par with the industry.
Self-grooming is also an important factor for an artist. As a result, the academy offers complimentary 30 hours of self-grooming course wherein the students will be given lessons in self-grooming and communication along with a few lessons in salon management.
Training details
Duration: The diploma course of ARTH is for 4-6 months, depending upon partner school and internship durations.
Student capacity: Since it’s a newly established academy, they are expecting 10-11 students per batch for CIDESCO skin course and ARTH hair diploma course.
Labs and classroom set-up: They have 11 working stations for hair and make-up respectively, and 6 beds for the skin courses.
USP of the courses: Both, ARTH and CIDESCO are internationally recognised certifications for the hairdressing and beauty industry respectively. The lectures are delivered by educators and professionals from the L’Oreal and CIDESCO team. They offer assured placement to all student.
