The Bridal Calendar

Get your skincare routine in place a month before the D-day. Our skin expert Dolly Bhatia, National Technical Head, Esskay Beauty Resources and Skinora, gives a lowdown on skincare treatments for brides-to-be.

WEEK 1

Monday, 2nd October

Chemical Peel: Depending on your skin type and concerns, a series of light chemical peels can help improve your skin’s texture, reduce fine lines and promote a radiant complexion. Consult with a dermatologist or licensed aesthetician to determine the right type and strength of peel for your skin.

Wednesday, 5th October

Hydration: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from within. Make this a daily habit.

Friday, 6th October

Exfoliation: Exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells and promote cell turnover. Choose a mild exfoliator suitable for your skin type. Make this your weekly routine.

WEEK 2

Tuesday, 10th October

Facial: Consider getting a facial treatment once a month leading up to the wedding. Discuss your skin concerns with a licensed aesthetician who can recommend a facial tailored to your needs. Facials can help cleanse, hydrate and rejuvenate your skin.

Thursday, 14th October

Moisturising: Use a moisturiser that suits your skin type to keep it well-hydrated. This should be part of your daily routine.

Saturday, 16th October

Toning: Apply a toner every day to balance the skin’s pH levels and prepare it for subsequent treatments.

Night Cream: Use a nourishing night cream each evening to help your skin repair and rejuvenate while you sleep.

WEEK 3

Monday, 18th October

LED Light Therapy: LED treatments can target specific skin concerns, such as acne or redness, and promote collagen production for a smoother complexion.

Thursday, 21st October

Microdermabrasion: This non-invasive exfoliation treatment can help improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and acne scars. Multiple sessions may be needed for optimal results.

Sunday, 24th October

Sunscreen: Apply a broadspectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen every morning, even on cloudy days, to protect your skin from UV damage.

WEEK 4

Tuesday, 26th October

HydraFacial: This popular treatment combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and antioxidant protection. It’s a great option for achieving a radiant complexion.

Expert Advice

Get adequate rest and manage stress levels, as they can significantly impact your skin’s appearance. It’s important to patch-test any new products and introduce them gradually into your routine to ensure they don’t cause adverse reactions.

If you have specific skin concerns or conditions, consider consulting a dermatologist or skincare professional for personalised recommendations. Remember to consult with a licensed aesthetician or dermatologist before undergoing any treatments to ensure they are suitable for your specific skin type and concerns. Start these treatments well in advance of the wedding to allow your skin time to recover and see the best results.

Consistency is key in achieving and maintaining healthy, radiant skin, so stick to your skincare routine and homecare plan diligently.

• Get a blood test to check nutrients deficiency and hormonal imbalance.

• Cut down on processed food sugar and alcohol.

• Avoid New product to prevent reactions.

• Reapply sunblock every two or three hours.
