INNER BEAUTY

RIA AND LAURA KULIK, FOUNDERS, THE HAIRBANK, URMSTON, MANCHESTER, UK, SHARE WITH US THEIR AWE-INSPIRING NEW COLLECTION AND THE THOUGHT PROCESS BEHIND IT.

What inspired this collection?

The collection drew inspiration from Chanel and the inner beauty of every woman. We wanted to show individual style with a tailored and classic wearable edge.

Tell us about the different aspects of colour, textures and styling.

The collection explores a real contemporary neutral palette, using contrasting colours in the hair to work alongside each other, creating visual depth and dynamic shadows. Natural movement and softness as well as sharp cuts and shapes were our aim. We wanted to show that both can be just as beautiful when worn by the right person.

Which products did you use?

Key products used included Matrix colours and styling products such as the lightweight texture spray and serum together with versatile styling tools from ghd that allow for maximum creativity.

Which is your favourite look of the collection?

Our favourite look from the collection is what we like to call a French bob (short cheekbone-length bob) using dark colour placement to enhance the face. It reflects the perfect balance between edgy and sophisticated.

Which elements from the collection will be trending in 2024?

Anticipated commercial trends in 2024 include a resurgence of bold, saturated natural hues, complementing each other, and a focus on bobs and natural texture.

How can Indian hairdressers find inspiration from this collection?

Indian hairdressers aiming to recreate these looks should really think about creating natural movement in the hair. This allows you to work on each individual and tailoring the look for them. Clever bold colour placement can really make a classic cut stand out in the crowd. Embrace a mix of traditional and contemporary techniques, and consider the diverse hair types and cultural nuances for a truly authentic interpretation.
