ICONIC

British Editorial Session Stylist, Barber and Educator, JJ Savani, collaborates with Ikonic Professional to create a sensational collection of styles for men. Classic looks meet modern sophistication as cuts get edgier and styles get classier in this contemporary collection for men.

The Inspiration

Four timeless looks for four different hair textures from around the world.

The Tech nique

The cutting techniques and styling are based on the specific hair type. For the Afro hair, we have solely done clipper work with guards and a free hand.

The Favourite

My favourite look is the ‘Graduated Scissor Cut.’ It is the perfect balance of a classic scissor cut swept to the side but with a short and sharp taper fade, which helps transition the sharp face structure to the textured scissor cut on top. With some pomade, it can be worn to work and with some salt spray and texturing powder, you can switch your waves and volume game for a casual weekend vibe.

The Tip-off

When recreating these looks, client consultation is the key. With this you need to analyse the clients face shape, hair texture, and even his lifestyle. Ask yourself - will the hairstyle work based on the client’s hair type? If it’s high maintenance, they won’t have time to groom themselves in the mornings and it will not do your work justice.

The Forecast

These looks will definitely trend in 2024 as they are a combination of modern cuts with a classic twist. Apart from these, our 2024 lookbook comprises:

Buzz cut for short hair:

This one’s popularity has gone through the roof. Add a high to mid skin fade and a sharp shape up, and you’ve got yourself a style deal.

Side bangs for long lengths:

As seen at the Prada runway show, a messier side parting with a lot more length of hair on the fringe and sides is making a big comeback.

Natural look for curly and textured hair:

More mid lengths and a square layered shape to frame the face as you style them with a glossy product is the way forward for curls.
