Kanishka Ramchandani discovers the perfect way to channel your inner fashion diva, using the Blondme colour range

If you are someone like me who has always been a bit ‘iffy’ about pre-lightening their hair, you are on the right page. It took a thorough consultation with a Schwarzkopf Professional hair expert at the brand’s academy in Andheri, Mumbai, to convince me to try a new look. Ever since I started colouring my hair, I have always gravitated towards reds, opting occasionally for the comfort of the mochas and caramels. But blonde shades have always intrigued me. So, when I was presented with the opportunity to experience the pre-lightening product, I decided to take that leap of faith. My only condition was the final colour has to be wearable and not-so-high on maintenance.

Enter Harshit Parekh, Educator, Schwarzkopf Professional Academy, armed with his extensive knowledge about formulas, colour combinations and colouration techniques. He assured me that with Blondme not only will my hair undergo a cool makeover, but it will also benefit from this formulation. After examining my existing hair colour and texture, he suggested a few lighter pieces that can be toned down with my desired shade.

A swatch test later, I got started with the Blondme prelightening treatment. He used the Blondme 9+, which can give a lift up to 9 levels, with a volume 7 developer. After understanding my taste in colours, Parekh recommended the chocolate blonde shade for me, since I already had red in my hair. He wanted to do some classic highlights with bars and slices, so he chose 7.65 Igora shade and mixed it with facial fire. “Facial fire dilutes the colour and gives me a cool tone effect. There’s high demand right now for soft cool tones. We have something called Vishalifier, which we can mix with any fashion shade to give it a cooler tone,” he explained.

Parekh ensured that my hair remained healthy and strong without turning frizzy. And for this he used Fibreplex No 2, a deeply caring product that seals the bonds of the hair and protects each strand. At the backwash, he used the Fibre Clinix Vibrancy Shampoo and Conditioner.

Finally, when my hair colour was ready for unveiling, he spritzed the OSiS+ Flatliner for heat protection. He styled my locks with tongs and finished off the look with a shine spray. Et voila! My sun-kissed chocolate blonde hair was ready to dazzle the world.
