Kay Beauty now available in the UAE

Katrina Kaif’s beauty brand, Kay Beauty, has made its debut in the UAE with over 60 SKUs across lips and face and over 30 SKUs for nails and eyes products. The brand will be exclusively available at City Centre, Mirdif, at the Nykaa store, an omnichannel beauty retail venture resulting from a strategic partnership between Apparel Group and Nykaa India.

Kaif states, “It gives me immense joy to finally bring Kay Beauty to the UAE. It was always my vision to take Kay Beauty global and share our offering with customers across different geographies, so they can experience the product first-hand. The brand’s foray into the GCC allows us to tap into a market that is very passionate about beauty and Indian cinema, both.”

Maybelline New York’s supports mental health

Maybelline launched Brave Together in 2020 to ensure mental health support to local communities. Since then, more than 1.65 million people in over 34 countries have gained access to free one-on-one professional support. To make access to mental health support easier and wider, Maybelline New York has now announced a long-term global partnership with the WHO Foundation and has pledged US$ 1.8 million to the WHO. The aim is to help around 2 million additional people get access to mental health services by 2028 and donate US$ 20 million to this cause by 2030.

A mini-documentary series called ‘Healthier Together’ highlights this new partnership and shines a light on the on-ground impact of Brave Together in various countries, including India, Japan and the US.

The Body Shop declares bankruptcy

In recent years, The Body Shop has faced significant challenges finally leading to closure in the UK, the US and Canada. The brand is now looking at the shutdown of several stores after filing for bankruptcy. In the UK, the firm declared bankruptcy in February, closing over 70 stores. The firm’s US subsidiary stopped operations in March, and 33 out of 105 Canadian stores are set to begin liquidation sales. The company has been struggling with high inflation as it predominantly operates in malls and targets middle-class consumers.

Despite expanding to over 2,500 stores across 80 countries and online markets, financial woes persist for The Body Shop. However, in India, The Body Shop India, led by franchise partner Quest Retail, assures customers of uninterrupted operations amid global uncertainty. The company continues to maintain both physical and online store presence.

Serena Williams launches Wyn Beauty

Good Glamm Group and Serena Williams have entered into a joint venture to launch Wyn Beauty in the US. The brand boasts of 91 shades spanning over 10 distinct products in the face, lip, and eye categories. Williams has named each product and shade after positive affirmations for personal growth, such as Brave, Momentum, Shine, Discover, Push, Build and Move. This reflects Serena’s aim to fill the brand with a sense of empowerment and purpose.

Williams said, “I’m so excited to introduce WYN Beauty to the world. To me, beauty has always been about self-expression and stepping into the best version of myself. Throughout my career, I was always searching for make-up that looked good after hours on the court, mixing products myself and creating my own formulas while travelling the world.”
