Vidhi Arya discovers beauty in simplicity with the varied shades of brown by PROADS Professional Absolute Premium Hair Colour.

Over the years, I have joyfully experimented with reds, blues and blondes, with each new hue enhancing my personality in a unique way. Inspired by the saying ‘beauty lies in simplicity,’ this time I decided to go for understated elegance. My goal: a hair colour that embraced the darker side of the spectrum and steered clear of pre-lightening.

As I settled into the salon chair, I was warmly welcomed by hairstylist Vinay Kumar and Shamim Ahmed, who is the Technical Educator with PROADS Professional. They examined my hair quality, analysed the remnants of my previous hair colour and attentively heard my need for a sophisticated and subtle transformation. They assured me that my vision was easily achievable with PROADS Professional Absolute Premium Hair Colour.

A SOPHISTICATED STYLE

As we decided to opt for subtle shades of the brown family without any use of pre-lightening, the experts suggested working with the highlighting technique. For grey coverage and to balance the underlying colour, they suggested that I go for a darker shade as the base and a lighter highlight to achieve dimension and colour play.

When it came to finalising the shades, I was totally spoilt for choices as PROADS Absolute Premium series of hair colours has a collection of 70+ shades to choose from. After thorough discussions and deliberations, I was wrapped in the cape and the process kicked off.

For the global base, Kumar chose Deep Brown 5.77 mixed with Extra Dark Brown 3. The concoction was mixed with PROADS Developer Absolute Premium 12 per cent 40VOL. For the highlights, Light Hazelnut 8.73 was chosen along with Clear 13 from the Superlift Series, for enhanced colour depth and richness.

As the process went on, I realised that a particular smell peculiar to hair colour was missing. Instead, I experienced a sweet-smelling fragrance. They informed me that the PROADS Professional Absolute Premium range is formulated with lavender and coconut oil extracts and citric acid, which renders a mild aromatic scent to the product. This formulation also helps achieve a bright, lustrous, long-lasting colour. Furthermore, as the series is enriched with a biotin formula, it is extremely gentle on hair and scalp. Its goodness helps with even colour and hydrated and nourished hair. After waiting in the chair for the necessary time, my hair was washed off at the backwash with the PROADS Professional Absolute Premium KeraColor Shampoo and Conditioner, rich in vitamins and proteins. These are also the products that Kumar and Ahmed suggested I use at home for a long-lasting and fresh-looking hair colour.

Finally, Kumar blow-dried and straightened my hair and my new, gorgeous and shiny hair colour was ready for me to flaunt to the world.
