Dear Reader,
Actor Aditi Rao Hydari cut an ethereal picture of a bride as she revealed her candid photographs on social media. Every radiant Indian bride, including Aditi, owes her look to an army of artists, comprising her colourist, hairstylist, make-up artist, skin expert, spa therapist, nail artist, henna artist, fashion stylist et al. It is the biggest day of her life, and beauty experts from different verticals are her support system.
This year’s bridal trends reflect a growing appreciation for individuality, where personal expression is the key. From hair to make-up, Indian brides are embracing looks that not only honour cultural heritage but also showcase their unique personalities. Going back to Aditi’s example, her understated look was perfect for the temple venue of her wedding. That’s the level of personalistion that we are looking at this season.
Top hair colour trends are also complementing the changing tastes of the Indian bride, as she is leaning towards rich, warm tones like caramel, chocolate brown and honey blonde. These colours add depth and dimension, creating a stunning contrast against traditional bridal attire.
There is yet another effusion of colours in bridal make-up as the major trend is moving towards a more natural look, with a focus on glowing skin, soft blush and subtle highlighter. Nude and pastel tones dominate the palette, especially soft pinks, peaches and corals while eyes are enhanced with shimmering eyeshadows and long, voluminous lashes.
In this edition, we explore these trends in depth, offering insights and inspiration for hairdressers and make-up artists to craft unforgettable wedding looks that resonate with today’s Indian brides.
