Nykaaland 2.0 draws a massive footfall of beauty enthusiasts

Nykaaland 2.0 attracted over 25,000 attendees in its three-day event, combining beauty, fashion, and entertainment. Held across immersive zones, it featured 80+ brands, including Carolina Herrera, Versace, Laura OPI, Ikonic Professional and 3TenX, alongside fashion names like Puma and KICA. Masterclasses by Sofia Tilbury, Patrick Ta, and Romero Jennings provided insights on makeup trends, while hairstylists Yianni Tsapatori and Dafydd Thomas demonstrated red-carpet hairstyles. Celebrities like Janhvi Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor and Kriti Sanon engaged with fans, and Katrina Kaif showcased Kay Beauty’s products.

Performances by artists like Jay Sean, Yung Raja, and Anuv Jain kept the crowd entertained. The event distributed 4,00,000 samples and featured live-streamed segments for wider accessibility.

Beauty Garage Professional: Transforming the haircare industry

Beauty Garage Professional has been recognised as the ‘True Made-in-India Hair Care Brand Transforming the Industry’ at the ET Business Leaders Awards 2024.

Founded by Mahesh and Jigar Ravaria in 2017, the brand provides safe and innovative hair care products tailored to Indian users. Growing at 60 per cent annually, it serves over 5,000 salons and has a distribution network of 100+ partners with a portfolio of 110 SKUs. The brand aims to offer a local alternative in a market traditionally dominated by international brands. This year, it also won Best Manufacturer of Hair Care Products at the National Feather Awards and was featured on Entrepreneurs Today’s 40 Under 40 list.

Meet the winners of the BEAUTY&YOU India 2024

The Estée Lauder Companies’ New Incubation Ventures (NIV) and Nykaa announced the BEAUTY&YOU India 2024 winners. The event received over 600 applications from more than 50 cities, with 12 finalists presenting their pitches at The Leela Palace, New Delhi, to a jury of 14 industry leaders. The jury included William P Lauder, Stéphane de La Faverie, Falguni Nayar, Shana Randhava, Tarun Tahiliani, Anaita Shroff Adajania, Deepica Mutyala and others.

The Winners of BEAUTY&YOU India 2024 are: GROW (In-Market Companies): SkinInspired (Piyush Jain and Dr Prashant Agrawal); IMAGINE (Pre-Market Concepts): Not Just Vanilla (Akshay Bawa and Kritika Rathi), Amright (Vaishnavi Maganti and Vijay Sivaraju); and CREATE (Creative Storytellers): Journey of Objects (Alia Allana).

YÊU Cosmetics brings about a TecCos revolution to makeup

YÊU Cosmetics, India’s first TecCos (technology-backed cosmetics) company, founded by Simran and Shivam Bagga, has entered the Indian beauty market. The brand focuses on science-backed solutions for Indian skin types and has developed products addressing issues like oxidation and fading pigment. YÊU offers a virtual assistant, Grace, powered by AI, to provide scientific insights on makeup challenges.

Launching with two products — a blush and a lip duo — YÊU emphasises a skin-first approach, incorporating essential oils like calendula and macadamia and providing sun protection and hydration. The products are vegan and free of parabens, sulphates and artificial fragrances. YÊU aims to capture 5-7 per cent of India’s premium cosmetics market and achieve Rs 15-20 crore revenue in two years.
