How can I make my bride’s make-up last for long at a winter wedding?
-Aanchal Saxena, Delhi
During winters, it’s easy for the makeup to last longer as the brides do not sweat as much as they do during summers. Three important things that you can use are: 1. A hydrating moisturiser underneath the foundation
2. A waterproof long-lasting foundation
3. A fixing spray after the foundation and again after completing the makeup
What are the most important factors to consider when creating a custom haircare routine for clients?
-Palakh Jain, Indore
1. What is their hair type? (thin or thick)
2. What is their scalp condition? Haircare starts from the scalp. A detox treatment for the scalp can really help with hair fall, dandruff, hair thinning or even frizzy hair. 3. If the ends are dry, they must use a leave-in conditioner.
I am unable to decide if I should recommend updos or open hair with curls to my client for a bridal event. What do I do?
-Sakshi Singh, Bangalore
Both can be done depending on the clients’ facial features, hair volume, texture of hair, age, profession (if any) and occasion.
For an unmarried young client, curls with open hair braids with a tassel or few floral beads can look really classy.
For more mature clients, you can try buns on three different areas.
1. On the nape area for a softer evening look
2. High bun on the crown area for a bold look
3. Side bun behind the ear for an Indo-western look
How do I ensure my clients maintain the effects of their facial during winters?
-Kanika Kumar, Lucknow
Facials should always be followed by a morning and evening care routine, irrespective of your skin type:
Morning routine:
1. Cleansing using a face wash
2. Toning (not just rose water)
3. Using a serum for deeper penetration of actives
4. Moisturising for hydration
5. Using sunscreen SPF 50 to protect the skin from UV rays and delay signs of ageing For the evening routine, you can follow the same steps, except the sunscreen.
Q&A
Every time I try to treat my client’s scalp condition, her hair becomes super frizzy. How can I address this?
-Shruti Sharad, Pune
Scalp and length should always be treated differently. Scalp products should not be applied on the length of the hair. Use a scalp detox treatment for treating the scalp and a length detox treatment for controlling frizz, strengthening the hair bonds and making the hair smooth and shiny. Also, use a seal spray to lock in the moisture and reduce frizz post the treatment.
My bridal client’s face is full of acne and she wants Korean glass skin like effect. I want to tell her politely it can’t be done. But I’m afraid of losing the client.
-Prem Makhija, Ulhasnagar
For a client full of acne, the following changes can be done to make her skin look better:
1. Do a Korean glass skin facial by SeaSoul once in 15 days
2. CTTM routine every morning and evening 3. Suggest her to drink min
3.5 litres of water everyday and avoid oily food and excessive sugar
4. Get minimum 8 hours of sleep and change bedsheets every 2-3 days
5. Avoid towels and hot water on the face 6. Avoid pricking the pimples or blackheads
These tips will help improve her skin and you will be able to achieve a glowing finish with makeup and not lose the client.
