The 67th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 was held in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Liverpool Arena played host to the two semi-finals on 9 and 11 May, and the final on 13 May 2023. The presenters for the three live shows included British singer Alesha Dixon, British actress Hannah Waddingham and Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina. Graham Norton, the Irish television presenter, joined for the finale. Thirty-seven countries participated in the contest and it was an extravaganza in every sense of the word.

Check out four looks that Antonio Corral Calero, Creative Director, Moroccanoil Global, had curated for Eurovision 2023.

SELINA-MARIA EDBAUER AKA SALENA OF TEYA & SALENA, AUSTRIA

THE INSPIRATION

A modern take on Brigitte Bardot’s iconic glam waves, this style is soft yet statementmaking.

DECODING THE LOOK

• Prep hair for styling and apply hydrating styling cream from mid-lengths to ends for hydration, soft hold and a frizz-free finish

• Apply root boost near the scalp to amp up the volume

• Blow-dry, using a medium-barreled round brush to smooth strands and build volume

• After blow-drying, curl hair using a large-barreled curling iron. Leave the ends straight for a more modern look

• Apply hair spray for hold and shine

• Pin curls with styling clips to allow them to set

• Leave clips in place until hair fully cools, then gently brush out, emphasising full, smooth waves

LUKE BLACK, SERBIA

THE INSPIRATION

Luke opted to wear his hair parted down the middle with soft, natural waves — a decidedly laid back look that reads as preppy yet stylishly imperfect.

DECODING THE LOOK

• Prep hair for styling and part hair in approximately the middle

• Use a curling iron to create gentle, loose curls

• Blow-dry, directing hair out of the face. Secure with styling clips until hair fully cools

• Finish with Mending Infusion by Moroccanoil to smooth flyaways

DAVID ‘DAV.JR’ MEILAK OF THE BUSKER, MALTA

THE INSPIRATION

David already has great curls and a great cut, so he simply wanted to enhance his everyday look and add a bit of hold to ensure it stayed in place for the stage.

DECODING THE LOOK

• Prep clean, towel-dried hair for styling to help boost shine and fight frizz

• Apply Curl Control Mousse throughout hair to tame frizz, seal in moisture and provide lasting hold with natural texture and no sticky residue. Gently scrunch with hands - from ends toward the scalp

• Use our Power Performance Ionic hair dryer with the diffuser attachment (on low heat) to gently dry hair and encourage natural curl formation

BLANKA STAJKOW, SOLO SINGER, POLAND

THE INSPIRATION

It was a 60s-era Brigitte Bardot again. The goal was to get big, glamorous volume with a soft wave!

DECODING THE LOOK

• Apply Moroccanoil Treatment Light to clean, towel-dried hair to prep for styling

• Use Root Boost at the roots for all-over lift

• Using a wide-toothed comb for even distribution, apply Volumizing Mousse throughout hair to further maximise body.

• Blow-dry using a round brush (45mm) to build volume as you go

• Use a curling iron to create glamourous curls, working section by section. Pin each curl while still warm and set until cool.

• After releasing curls, use a comb or small styling brush to tease at the roots to build additional volume and height

• Gently brush over the style to smooth flyaways, then finish with Luminous Hairspray Strong. PBHJ
